Scriblit

High quality writing instruction in the age of AI

Adam and Alexa Sparks

We at Long Term Impact are excited to announce our investment in Scriblit (formerly Short Answer). Scriblit helps schools build stronger writers by combining daily formative assessment with explicit writing instruction across the curriculum. Students in grades 2–12 write about the content they are already learning, improve their work through peer and AI feedback, and practice the specific writing skills they need to develop. Along the way, Scriblit helps teachers assess content understanding, identify areas for growth, and track writing proficiency over time. This helps schools create a more cohesive approach to writing instruction without adding to teachers’ workloads.

Scriblit was founded by Adam Sparks, a veteran educator who has taught English and Social Studies in rural, urban, and global classrooms, and Alexa Sparks, an accomplished software engineer who holds a master's degree in Education Data Science from The Stanford Graduate School of Education. At a time when AI is rapidly changing how students write and learn, the ability to think critically and communicate effectively through writing has never been more important. Daniel, Justin, and I believe every child should have access to high-quality writing instruction, and Scriblit is helping make that possible in classrooms every day.
